Create an Interlibrary Loan Account

New users will need to create an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Account. Follow these steps to do so:

  1. Navigate to the ILL Account login page.
  2. Log in with your GatorLink login credentials.
  3. Fill out the form with your profile information.
  4. Your ILL Account is ready for you to use.

Submit an Interlibrary Loan Request for a Journal Article, Book Chapter, or Conference Paper

Follow these steps to place an Interlibrary Loan Request for a scan of a small portion of a work, such as a single Journal Article, Book Chapter, or Conference Paper.

  1. Log in to your Interlibrary Loan Account.
  2. Navigate to the “New Request” option in the menu located on the left side of the screan.
  3. For an Article Request, kindly provide the following information: Article Title, Journal Title, Year, Page Range, Authors, and ISSN (if available). If the journal is abbreviated, utilize abbreviations.com to determine its full title.
  4. For a Book Chapter Request, kindly provide the following information: Title, Page Range, Authors, and ISBN (if available). If a specific volume or year is necessary, please specify which one you need.
  5. To finalize the request, kindly click the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page.

Submit an Interlibrary Loan Request for a Physical Item

Follow these steps to place an Interlibrary Loan Request for a Loan.

  1. Log in to your Interlibrary Loan Account.
  2. Select the desired type of material. If unsure, choose “Loan.” Loan is an umbrella term that refers to any type of physical material (Books, Microforms, DVDs, etc.).
  3. For Loan Requests, kindly provide the Title and Author. If a specific volume or year is required, please be sure to specify.
  4. To finalize the request, kindly click the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page.

How to Find the OCLC Number

  1. Open the WorldCat homepage.
  2. The results will display all format types (Book, eBook, DVD, Microform, etc.) Use the filter on the left to narrow your results to the format of your choice.
  3. Click on the result that matches what you are looking for.
  4. Click ‘Show More Details’ and find the OCLC number. Copy this number and paste it into the ‘OCLC’ field on the Interlibrary Loan request form.

View an Electronically Received Article

When the Article you requested is ready, you will receive an email alert that it is in your Interlibrary Loan Account under Electronically Received Articles. Here are the steps to view it:

  1. Log in to your Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Account.
  2. Navigate to the View section in the menu located on the left side and select Electronically Received Articles.
  3. Click on the Transaction Number of the request you are interested in to open the article.
